It only recently occured to me that those folks using the search term “make money online” are almost totally different to those typing in “internet marketing”.

Put simply, the make money online folks are after ways to make money without any knowledge of marketing itself. Sadly, these folks are much more likely to fall for the scams or get rich quick schemes.

Eventually of course, they’ll find their way toward internet marketing once they’ve realised that there’s no such thing as the ability to make money by clicking a button. Then they’ll be searching high and low for an internet marketing guide that will show them the way to online profits.

Such a shame it has to be this way but then I guess it’s wired into us that we want money quick (preferably yesterday) and by expending as little effort as possible. Eventually we realise this isn’t the way and those that are left get more heavily involved in creating products or affiliating for others.

The point I’m trying to make here I guess is that there’s no such thing as a free lunch, and you have to take some kind of action to make a dime on the net. Online is the same as offline, the internet is just a medium like any other. Whether you’re a “make money online” hunter still searching for that one size fits all push button program or a seasoned internet marketer, the time will come when you realise you have to give something of value to be compensated monetarily.
